Placido Bayou is a small, gated neighborhood located in northeast St. Pete, across the body of water by the same name from Shore Acres. A guard sits at the entrance. This beautiful community covers 361.61 acres, and includes 10 ponds, several preserve areas, and 636 homes. There are 11 neighborhoods in Placido Bayou, each offering their distinct benefits. Placido Bayous was first developed by Robert Crisp, whose family had developed residential and commercial projects since the 1920s, Lloyd Williams, a home builder, and businessman John Kearney. The community was developed on 300 acres owned by the Crisp family. The grand opening took place in September of 1984. In April of 1986, developer Walter Larson bought the unfinished development for $13.5 million. You’ll find upscale, single family homes in Placido Bayou. While each of this community’s 11 neighborhoods have their distinct advantages, because this is a master planned community, homes have a nice feeling of continuity.
